Dandy Bags and Curb Bags

By Alex Watrud

Is stormwater runoff a problem on your job site? Are you worried about fines due to the sediment content? Dandy Products has a great solution available for the filtration of sediment-laden stormwater. Dandy bags and curb bags’ unique, patented design keeps silt, sediment, and debris out of storm systems and reduces or eliminates the need to flush or clean inlets.

There is a difference between regular dandy bags and curb bags. Dandy bags are used on stand-alone grate drains where there is no curb inlet. They can be used on either round or rectangular grate drains and come in a variety of sizes to fit the needs of the placement site. Image (1) shows the proper application and placement of a regular dandy bag.

Curb bags are different in that they include an additional sleeve for curb inlet protection. These are also manufactured in varying sizes for different curb grate styles. See image (2) for the application of a curb bag.

Dandy bags and curb bags are made of a highly visible orange monofilament geotextile so they can be used in all weather. These bags can also be removed, cleaned, and reused multiple times. Using the attached lifting device (straps), the bags are simple to install and maintain.
